Many people believe that crystals have the power to heal and attract positive energy. So which ones do you want to take home? We've got a list for you
If there's an area in your life that you think needs a little intervention, consider displaying an assortment of crystals around your home. Many people put their trust in the idea that these fossilised minerals radiate and attract positive energies.
For the uninitiated, crystals are believed to be the harbingers of good luck, love, fortune, and many more. The first historical documentation of crystals originated from the Ancient Sumerians back in c. 4500 to c. 2000 BC where they're are incorporated in different types of jewellery and even rubbed onto the skin. In the modern age, renowned celebrities like Rihanna, Megan Fox, Spencer Pratt, and Andy Warhol thank their healing properties and even vouch for their efficacy.
When using crystals, you want to make sure they're positively charged. To do that all you need is a little cleansing, here are simple ways to do that:
- Put them under the moon: The sure-fire way to rid of your crystal's impurities is to bathe them in moonlight. Do this once in a while or after you used your stone.
- Cleanse them with water: You can use the rain to wash your crystal or just soak it in a bowl of salt water.
- Cleansing by smoke or fire: Burning sage or Palo Santo can cleanse your crystal, however, many indigenous peoples have deemed this practise unethical. Reports have shown that the endangered Palo Santo trees are being "over-harvested" since this fad began. Do the environment a favour and just cleanse by putting crystals above a lit candle.
- Bury them: Whose grave are we digging today? To ward off bad energies, allow the Earth to foster your crystal underground for 45 hours.
