There is something deliciously insane about a hybrid performance of spoken word poetry and professional wrestling, but this version of a poetry slam is just one of the many zany ideas whizzing around in Joshua Ip’s head. The poet, editor and 2017 Young Artist Award recipient co-founded online platform, Sing Lit Station, to bring together readers and writers, and has been pouring his energy into organising workshops and the annual Singapore Poetry Writing Month. The 36-year-old’s latest projects include a residency in Indonesia and Australia to work on his first prose, and putting together Farquhar: The Musical in 2019.
