From age 15, Yung Ong had already started working as a food runner and server at his family-owned bars. When he turned 24, his father wanted to diversify their office furniture supply business, which was how Yung came up with the idea of branching into retail. Twelve years later, the group now operates franchises such as Crate and Barrel, BoConcept and menswear fashion label Suitsupply as well as homegrown brands Proof Living and Dream. The affable young entrepreneur says, “I never considered becoming a leader in our industry. I just want to bring inspiration and entertainment as well as build great experiences for my customers and employees alike.”
