Amanda Lee Koe
Despite her young age, Amanda Lee Koe has achieved what many aspiring writers only dream about. Her collection of short stories Ministry of Moral Panic, which was published in 2013, had won several awards, including the Singapore Book Awards (Best Fiction) 2016, and the Singapore Literature Prize 2014, where Amanda was the youngest winner. Fellow homegrown writer Alfian Sa’at has nothing but praise for Amanda’s work: “This is possibly the most exciting debut collection of stories by a Singaporean writer I’ve ever read. It’s the kind of book that will get under your skin because the author herself has spent devoted hours under her characters’.” Amanda is working on her debut novel.
