Over seven episodes, the Singaporean entrepreneur will speak to other business leaders about what it takes to achieve a fulfilling and successful career

Singaporean media startup founder and 2018 Gen.T honouree Dr Juliana Chan has launched her first podcast and video series.

The series, titled The Science of Work with Juliana Chan, comprises seven episodes and was produced with Zyrup Media.

Each episode sees Dr Chan engaging in a discussion with business leaders from various fields, each time seeking to answer one fundamental question: Is there a science to achieving a fulfilling and successful career?

The series aims to provide actionable insights on topics such as finding purpose at work, tackling imposter syndrome, and achieving an appropriate work-life balance.

In the first episode, Dr Chan and guest speaker Goh Wei Choon discussed finding your ikigai (reason for being) in life. Goh is the illustrator behind The Woke Salaryman, a popular webcomic about personal finance, which he started with Gen.T honouree He Ruiming

At one point, Dr Chan and Goh spoke about dealing with self-doubt. “I have this problem where I tie whether I am good at drawing to whether I feel good or not, or whether I am doing well or not,” said Goh in the episode.

They also touched on the idea of finding the joy in pain. As Goh put it: “Suffering makes something worth it, I think. If it is too easy, you wouldn’t want it.”

The Science of Work with Juliana Chan podcast is available to listen to on Spotify and Apple Podcast.
