Over 150 guests gathered at Carlton Hotel Singapore in support of the YMCA’s annual fundraising event—Giving Gala 2016. Tan Chuan-Jin, minister for social and family development was the guest-of-honour. By the end of the night, over $286,000 was raised and the funds will benefit the YMCA Community Service Programmes, improving the living conditions for the intellectually and physically challenged, abused and underprivileged children, hearing impaired as well as the elderly and the poor. 19-year-old Michelle Lee, one of the beneficiaries of YMCA Community Service Programmes and emcee for the gala, donated her tie-dye artwork titled A Splash of Colour which was auctioned off for $2,000.
