The elevator ride up to Ion Sky was simply a teaser of what was to come, as a 3D motion screen presented the changing views of the ascent to the snow-capped Alps. Indeed, the launch party celebrating the 1858 collection by Montblanc was no ordinary event, and perfectly embodied the spirit of exploration embodied by the timepieces. As we walked up the gravel-filled walkway, we were greeted by the changing panorama of the Alps, which was subject to the outdoor elements of rain, snow and sunshine, thus bringing the outside in. Fuelled by copious amounts of bespoke cocktails that were inspired by the Alps, guests discovered the new collection, and were inspired by a talk by local mountaineer Khoo Swee Chiow, who shared his experiences of completing the Seven Summits challenge.
