It was a sea of bright colours at The Eye Ball 2017 as the ophthalmologic industry, supporters of the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), the Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), and members of high society came together to raise awareness of eye diseases and advance the cause of ophthalmology in Singapore. Themed "Singapoptical", the event saw attendees came in different shades of colour to show their unwavering support. Held at Goodwood Park Hotel, the Eye Ball is the annual fund-raising initiative by SNEC and SERI and is held in conjunction with the VisionSave campaign. (Launched last July, VisionSave aims to innovate eye care delivery medicine to ensure the medical care for every patient.) Approximately $620,000 was raised that evening, which contributed to the $1.5m raised for this year's VisionSave—it will go towards the campaign's end-goal of $25m by 2020.
