Magic was in the air at the Singapore Symphony Orchestra’s fairytale-themed annual benefit dinner. Held at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore in April, the night also honored the generous donations towards the SSO, with Minister Grace Fu presenting the Benefactor Award to Chairman Cham Tao Soon of industrial group NSL for his $1m donation to the SSO over the years. The guests were then serenaded by international musical star Juan Jackson, singing various musical hits, accompanied by the SSO. Singaporean songstress Imelda Teo later joined Jackson for a duet of A Whole New World.

Fundraising efforts for the orchestra at this year’s ball surpassed last year’s by about $200,000, with a total of $1,035,000 raised, bringing the night to a happy ending.
