600 guests attended the union of Carmen Ow and Bryan Tan, held at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore

More often than not, a bride steals the spotlight from her groom during their wedding. As Carmen Ow captivated guests with her gorgeous gowns (by the likes of Elie Saab Haute Couture and Vera Wang) at her wedding in July, she also surprised her husband-to-be Bryan Tan by setting the theme of their solemnisation ceremony at The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore as his favourite sci-fi series, Star Wars. This meant that Lego figurines of Chewbacca and Yoda were incorporated into the floral arrangements and in place of boutonnieres for the groomsmen (and woman), and Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers guarded Carmen’s house before the bridal gatecrash.

A week later, the newly-weds took to The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore for an evening reception with 600 guests. The ballroom was transformed into an ethereal garden blooming with white flowers. Over the six-course Chinese meal, the father-of-the-bride Victor Ow, mother-of-the-groom Susan Lee, best man and maid of honour tickled guests with light-hearted speeches. Victor also sang to Engelbert Humperdinck’s Love Me with All Your Heart. A dessert buffet and after-party ensued, where DJ duo Rave Republic spun beats outside the ballroom, and guests danced till the wee hours of the morning.
