The Singapore Lyric Opera (SLO) is the champion for Western opera in Singapore. It promotes and presents operas and concerts for the masses and nurtures the local opera scene and talent. To do so, the not-for-profit organisation organises the annual Opera Ball to raise funds for its activities and this year's edition was held at The Fullerton Hotel on March 14. Attendees were treated to mesmerising solo performances by Thomas Rudd and Cherie Tse, cast members from Verdi's Aida. The production, which is put together by the SLO, will run from June 1 to 6 at Esplanade Theatre. Besides the entertainment, both Kay Kuok and Multimetals Resources Pte Ltd received the patron's award that evening for their contribution and support towards SLO's fund-raising efforts.
