It was a splendid gathering of friends at society stalwart Nana Au-Chua's annual ladies luncheon, where everyone got to usher in the season of Spring in great company at Empress at the Asian Civilisations Museum. The restaurant was filled with vivid hues of red and bright floral patterns as guests showed up in their festive best, before commencing with the essential lo hei toss, where everyone expressed their auspicious wishes for the Lunar New Year. The lively atmosphere then continued as guests tucked into a sumptuous meal of crispy sturgeon fillet, barbecued pork in truffle sauce and sticky date longan pudding.
Before leaving, guests were also gifted stuffed toy rats, each custom-made from different fabrics to signify the start of a new zodiac calendar year.
