The Milken Institute Asia Summit in Singapore traditionally brings together top leaders from the fields of business, governance, finance and philanthropy, as they provide their insights to discuss prominent issues of today. And despite the challenges faced this arduous year, the team behind the non-profit think tank went ahead with the event which was held from December 8 to 10, themed "Reconnect and Reimagine" in a nod to build a safer and more sustainable global community. The summit was also momentous as it hosted Singapore's first large-scale convening during Phase 2, where the event was transformed to adapt to today's pandemic measures in a hybrid format where both virtual and in-person offerings are available to attendees. 

A total of 1,100 global leaders and executives attended the hybrid online-physical event, with over 180 participants on-site at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre for its one-day-only in-person segment. Attendees were required to take the Covid-19 Rapid Antigen Test and were only allowed to stay in their assigned zones in compliance with safety management measures. For the first time, speakers were also projected in holograms to join their fellow panellists during the in-person segment of the summit, with founder Michael Milken being the first to grace the stage through holographic technology.
