The Magic Bus Singapore Gala 2019
Around 220 guests went for a joyride at the 9th edition of the Magic Bus Gala Singapore, part of the global fund-raising circuit for the Magic Bus Foundation, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Founded by Matthew Spacie in India in 1999, the charity has since expanded to Nepal, Bangladesh, and Myanmar bringing their "Childhood to Livelihood" programmes to the poorest individuals in these societies. The Singapore gala brought prominent members of the Indian community and fervent Magic Bus supporters together at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore for a night of giving and entertainment.
Guests enjoyed the delicious Indian fare—based on personal recipes from Magic Bus board member Bina Rampura and committee chair Dipika Bedi—as well as a mesmerising show by magician Karan Singh. Emcee Mandira Bedi and auctioneer Andy Martin rallied the crowd to support the youth who would be given education and life skills enhancement and raised 550,000 by the end of the night.
