The British High Commision in Singapore celebrated Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth’s sapphire jubilee in style, with a cocktail party hosting some 800 guests to “The Best of Britain”. Making a special appearance were key members of the cast of Downton Abbey, who were in Singapore for the launch of an exhibition on their mini-series at Marina Bay Sands. Guests enjoyed a delectable array of British fare, from fish & chips to bangers and mash, roast lamb and beef to drinks including Pimms, whiskies and sodas. Raising a toast to HM The Queen’s 91st birthday on behalf of Singapore was Indranee Rajah, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Education.
