It was only her second day on the job after being made a full minister in the Prime Minister's Office, but Indranee Rajah made time to meet with the members of the Harvard Club of Singapore to discuss two topics that are close to her heart: philanthropy and volunteerism.

With a rapidly ageing population being one of the challenges facing Singapore, the minister touched upon the need for a new form of volunteerism, encouraging members to step out of their circle to find new platforms to connect and explore opportunities to do good. Besides looking at ways to develop a caring and inclusive society, the dialogue also touched on topics that are under her purview as second minister for Law, Finance and Education.

The minister is one of three women ministers in the reshuffled Singapore Cabinet—the largest number in its history.
