Generation T held the first event of its regional Connect To Change initiative in Singapore in September, in partnership with The Fullerton Hotel Singapore and Reach Community Services, and with the support of the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre. The aim? To enrich the lives of a group of 20 youths from Reach with honest and important insights on the different careers and industries in Singapore. To do so, five Gen.T honourees—Love, Bonito's Rachel Lim, Viddsee's Ho Jia Jian, Mighty Jaxx's Jackson Aw, Acceset's Oon Tian Sern and rapper Shigga Shay—were invited to each helm a sharing session, which would take place within guest suites and rooms around The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. There, they shared personal stories about their childhood and careers, with dreams, perseverance, failure and life lessons being some of the most talked-about topics. The afternoon later concluded with a special performance by Shigga Shay, who was spontaneously accompanied by one of the youths who provided a beat to his rap by beatboxing.
