Blooms everywhere. In silver tall pots, on the tables, in cubic Loewe paperbags – we’re hosting floral arrangement sessions with our Tatler friends in the Loewe boutique, in theme with the Spanish brand’s Christmas capsule with Charles Rennie Mackintosh.
Mackintosh, a Scottish artist who often collaborated with his wife Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh, a fellow artist known for her botanical style—so often that eventually their work converged. In their creations, flowers are interpreted in a variety of ways and that shows in Loewe creative director Jonathan Anderson’s collection too. The Puzzle bag has been transformed into a stained glass window, with the famous Art Deco Mackintosh rose, while a mohair-and-wool blanket features delicate watercolour flowers influenced by Japonism. Art as fashion? Irresistible, according to our guests, who found Christmas presents for themselves and their loved ones.
