David Ciclitira, Grace Fu, Philip Seah and George Tanasijevich

With the strongest Southeast Asian representation since its inception in 2014, this year’s Prudential Eye Awards in January saw Cambodian artist Sareth Svay being named Overall Best Emerging Artist. The awards ceremony at Sands Theatre in Marina Bay Sands was officiated by minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Grace Fu, and witnessed by the who’s who in the art sector. Celebrated Thai artist Sakarin Krue-On was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award, while Thai rock group Slot Machine received the award for Visual and Pop Culture. The exhibition featuring works by the 15 artists, shortlisted from over 200 award nominees, continues at the ArtScience Museum till March 27.
