For one night in November, warriors and goddesses united on the island of Themyscira (the Grand Ballroom of The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore transformed into a lush Amazonian paradise) for another edition of the Crib Ball. Taking a leaf out of Wonder Woman’s book, the fundraiser by social enterprise Crib celebrated the inspiring stories, entrepreneurial spirit and outstanding achievements of women in Singapore. Crib founders Elaine Kim, Tjin Lee, Marilyn Lum and Mei Chee, along with executive director Perng Aw, led a toast to all the women in the room. The night was of course for a good cause, through the work of Crib’s philanthropic arm, Crib Gives Back. Its ksy beneficiary for 2018 is the Mister Morris Foundation to support its holistic social centre, Anugerah on Bintan, which comprises an orphanage, an elderly home, a school and a medical centre. An impromptu dance-off to crown the best-dressed guests, Celina Lin and Adrian Ong, capped off the night of fun and conviviality.
