“A Connected Commonwealth”—that was the theme of this year’s Commonwealth Day celebrations, which marked the 70th anniversary of the London Declaration. To keep this close connection, The Royal Commonwealth Society of Singapore and the British High Commission, led by high commissioner Scott Wightman, hosted a reception at Eden Hall, which was attended by business and community leaders.

Bangladesh high commissioner Md Mustafizur Rahman conveyed Queen Elizabeth II’s Commonwealth Day message, which spoke of the collective values shared by member nations. The highlight of this year’s celebration was an avant-garde-themed runway show featuring creations made from recycled materials and plastics by MDIS (Management Development Institute of Singapore) fashion students.
