Dressed in their festive best, members and friends of the Chinese Women’s Association were out in full force at a Crazy Rich Asians-themed Lunar New Year celebration at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Singapore in February. They were treated to an afternoon of entertainment, which saw seasoned fundraiser Dana Cheong kick off the programme with a playful dance number, followed by a fashion show featuring several other society belles modelling a selection of dazzling pieces by Infiniti Jewels, as well as a quick costume change act. But what got the most applause was guest of honour Joan Pereira, MP for Tanjong Pagar GRC, who showed off her vocals with a medley of beloved Mandarin classics, alongside society songstress, Lotus Soh.
