It was in late September to early October when the Singapore Polo Club hosted some of the world’s best female polo players. The women were in town to compete in the prestigious BMW Women’s International polo tournament, splitting into four teams including one that bore the Singapore Tatler flag and was captained by Nina Clarkin, the world’s foremost female player. On the last day of the event, an intense match for the trophy between teams Tatler and Veuve Clicquot ended with the former coming up on top with a score of 5:3. Off the field, race-goers also saw another group of women vying for a very different crown: Miss World Singapore 2017.
