A charity train journey, Eastern & Oriental Tiger Express drew travellers from all over the world, including a clutch of celebrities, like stylist Gok Wan and the legendary Jimmy Choo. The train ride, which embarked from Singapore to Thailand, was organised by Save Wild Tigers to raise funds and increase awareness about the threat of extinction that wild tigers face.

In Kuala Lumpur, passengers disembarked to join Malaysia’s glitterati for Inspire: The Majestic Tiger Ball. The lavish gala was graced by Royal Patron, Sultanah Kalsom Abdullah of Pahang. The star piece of the tiger-themed art auction was The Crystal Tigress sculpture by London artist Lauren Baker, hand-carved and set with over 50,000 Swarovski crystals.

After an entrancing line-up of performances and partying, passengers retired to their cabins as their journey northwards continued overnight.
