While it was pouring heavily outside, inside the Dutch Pavilion at the Shangri-La Hotel Singapore, it felt like a calm sanctuary as our Tatler friends were sipping their tea and nibbling on scones at this Tatler x Kanebo afternoon tea soirée. Our guests were looking forward to exploring the Japanese beauty brand’s most luxurious line, The Exceptional.
Regional trainer of Kao Singapore Jamie Chan started with a presentation on the anti-ageing trio of skincare products The Lotion, The Emulsion and The Cream. Following that, makeup maestro Clarence Lee did a makeup demonstration on model Bernadette Ong (who also happens to be Miss Universe Singapore 2020), highlighting the skincare benefits of The Primer and The Cream Foundation. “Makeup with skincare products have become normal, but this is skincare with makeup”, Lee said as he blended both products in, a move that is definitely not kosher when it comes to your usual cream foundation as it can easily clog pores.
But not The Exceptional, as this makeup product is actually beneficial for your skin.
Before the session ended, Lee did a personal foundation colour check for each guest. And just like it was meant to be, the skies cleared when it was time to say goodbye.
