Into The Otherworld: Arts House Limited Inaugural Fundraiser
“Imagine a world without art,” declared Arts House Limited (AHL) CEO Sarah Martin. It was an intriguing thought for the coterie of art patrons and supporters gathered at The Arts House at the Old Parliament for its inaugural fundraiser. For one, art has the power to take one into the other world, which for the evening included folk tales by master storyteller Kamini Ramachandran and dramatic arias by tenor Jonathan Charles Tay and violinist Jocelyn Ng.
Art and cuisine also entwined for guests were treated to the culinary brilliance of world-renowned chef Massimo Bottura, as interpreted by chef Karime Lopez, at Gucci Osteria. The pop-up restaurant had set up home at The Arts House’s Annex Building for 33 days from May to early June, bringing Gucci’s spirit of eccentricity in its decor and tableware. Guests also bidded in the silent auction, which featured specially curated journeys into the other world, including Four Seasons resort stays, in support of AHL’s vision of developing The Arts House into the national literary arts centre.
