Get your boozy fix even while practising social distancing throughout the month

This story was updated on May 12, 2020

With the “circuit breaker” measures in place until June 1, we must stay at home to prevent the further spread of coronavirus. Non-essential businesses are closed for a month, and yes, that includes your favourite wine bars and merchants. However, that doesn’t mean we’ll have to settle for a dry month, as they’re offering our favourite pours for delivery. Cheers to that!

The members’ only wine store is home to a bevy of well-curated bottles, which co-founder (and self-confessed wine nerd) Justin Dry and team source directly from the best wine producers across the globe. Without the middleman (aka importers), most of their offerings are on the affordable range.

For example, the Gran Enemigo Gualtallary Cabernet Franc 2014, which wine critic James Suckling praises as a “rich and glorious wine” retails for $109 only. There are regular special offers, too, including the Black Market Deal, which highlights a bottle (without revealing the brand) for a very special price. Orders can be placed online. Check out the wines here.

It’s business as usual for the homegrown wine retailer, whose extensive offerings spanning wines and spirits are also available on its e-store. Get your hands on covetable sips such as the Bouchard Pere & Fils Le Corton Grand Cru 2014, which is currently on sale at $159, and the Paul Jaboulet Aine Hermitage La Chapelle Rouge 2016, now at $239.

Special promotions like these are updated every month, and if you spend more than $350, you even get a complimentary Winecation Kit. This includes a wine glass, pocket sanitiser, gourmet snack and pasta, tomato-based sauce, and one pack of card game. Orders can be placed online and the delivery fee is waived for purchases above $200. Check out the wines here

While the website is currently under construction, you can call (9758 9006) or email (info@grandvin.com.sg) the wine retailer to request for its comprehensive wine list. There is a decent selection from old and new world wine regions, but the majority of its bottles come from France. In fact, it's the exclusive distributor for renowned maisons such as Château Lafite Rothschild, Château L'Évangile and Château Rieussec.

During the “circuit breaker” period, free delivery is offered for purchases above $300. If you exceed $500, you’ll also receive a complimentary Atout charcuterie platter.

One good thing about this wine retailer is that you don’t need to sign up as a member to take advantage of its wine delivery services. Just go to the website to browse its wide range of tipples from old and new world wine regions. Standouts include the Champagne Jacquart from France, exclusively distributed by ToT, as well as the Robert Weil Riesling Spatlese Kiedrich Klosterberg from Germany.

It also prides itself for shipping all the wines in refrigerated containers, ensuring the beautiful flavours are preserved until the bottles are delivered to your doorstep. Orders can be placed through email (orders@tot.sg) and phone call (6299 9300). Just for April, free delivery is offered for orders above $100. Check out the wines here.
