Winemaker

Thibaut Pontallier, founder of Pont des Arts; Andre Lim, chairman of JR Asia; Emmanuel Ascoli, CEO China of Pont des Arts; and Royce Yeo, CEO of JR Asia

His name may not ring a bell but in the French wine world, Etienne de Montille is considered a rockstar. For one, he’s the son of the late winemaker Hubert de Montille, who steered the family winery to be one of the leading Côte de Beaune producers in Burgundy.

Etienne continues his father’s legacy in creating the rarest blends of pinot noir, but he adds his own touch by tapping into his expertise in biodynamic farming and whole cluster fermentation. The latter is a process that intensifies the aromatics to wines, making them more elegant and easy to drink.

Blend

Pont des Arts' fifth collection

This is the first time that Thibault Pontallier, founder of Pont des Arts has worked with a winemaker, and when two great minds collide, expect nothing short of spectacular. By using the 2014 Burgundy as well as 2014 and 2015 Bordeaux vintages, they created the voluptuous Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru 2014 and the velvety Corton les Marechaudes Grand Cru 2014.

While it’s tempting to pop the bottles now, keep some for the future and taste how well they age.
