Planning on sleeping in on the first morning of the new year? Here are five places where you can enjoy a late breakfast or an early lunch.

Yes, we know that New Year’s Day will be here in barely a day. If you haven’t had the foresight to make advance reservations for a splendid holiday brunch, we bet it must be difficult right now to secure a booking at a popular dining place.

There’s still a chance, however, that you can score a table for a tasty first meal of 2021. Here are some excellent options that may be able to accept your reservation, provided you act right now. Good luck!

1. Botanico at The Garage

Have a New Year’s five-course brunch amid the verdant grounds of the Singapore Botanic Gardens and top up with optional free-flow bubbly for a celebratory start to your day. The menu begins with bread, a Palermo Pepper appetiser, followed by Hokkaido Corn Soup, Faroese Salmon, Kurobuta Pork Belly, and ends with sweet and salty Miso Caramel Chocolate Tart.

Menu only available on New Year’s Day, two seatings at 11am and 1pm.

2. Jade Restaurant at The Fullerton Hotel

Not in the mood for pancakes, French toast or eggs Benedict? Go ahead and do New Year’s Day Yum Cha at Jade Restaurant instead. There might not be a special menu but we think you’ll still be delighted with the restaurant’s familiar dim sum favourites and popular Chinese dishes.

Two seatings at 10.30am and 1.30pm.

3. Cut by Wolfgang Puck

This one’s for steak and seafood lovers—Cut is offering a three-course New Year’s Day brunch menu with a selection of appetisers and entrées that include oysters, Alaskan king crab legs and caviar with blinis for your choice, as well as a steak main course that can be upgraded to Wagyu at an additional charge.

Menu only available on New Year’s Day, 11.30am to 2pm.

4. Art Restaurant at National Gallery

If your growling tummy can wait till noon, go for the New Year’s Day Lunch at Art Restaurant. The festive four-course menu at the contemporary Italian restaurant features langoustine, tagliolini with winter truffle, duck in an artichoke sauce and olive oil cake with champagne gelato.

Menu only available on New Year’s Day, 12pm to 1.30pm.

5. Working Title

Prefer a regular brunch place? Try Working Title then. This burger-bar-slash-cafe offers a brunch menu from 9am to 3pm every day that includes favourites like avocado toast, beans on toast or a breakfast fry-up done your preferred way. Perfect for curing a hangover acquired over New Year’s Eve.
