Another hotly anticipated event that has made a comeback this year is Singapore Coffee Festival, organised by The Straits Times and DBS Bank. It showcases our diverse café culture by bringing together over 100 well-loved cafes and coffee brands from around the world. They will have their own booths and will serve up your usual kopi C to more unusual choices like the kopi luwak, regarded as the most expensive coffee variety.

August 11 to 13, Marina Bay Sands

Waku Ghin’s signature marinated botan shrimp with sea urchin and caviar for less than $50—it's no wonder so many look forward to Marina Bay Sands’ annual food extravaganza, featuring, among its stellar line-up of restaurants, a star-studded cast of celebrity chef restaurants offering a taste of their award-winning cuisine for a steal. This year, there’ll be new names joining the list: The Bird, offering hearty Southern American fare, and new Italian restaurant and bar Lavo.

Other new highlights include a Kampung Bar where Diageo’s bartenders willbe serving up hawker-inspired cocktails. But if wine or whisky is your preferred drink of choice, join masterclasses where experts will take you through a tasting of rare bottles like the Karuizawa 40, as well as customised Yamazaki, Hakushu and Nikka from miniature Oak Barrels.

Beerfest Asia 2017

August 17 to 20, Marina Bay Cruise Centre

The beer festival keeps fans coming back for more with new brands and flavours every year. For its ninth edition, 500 beers and ciders will be available; out of which 100 labels will be available in Singapore for the first time. Keep a look out for the Krusovice Imperial, Erdinger Sommerweis, Pressure Drop Wu Gang Chops, and Guinness Bright before they run out.

What’s a festival without fun and apt activities? This year's event will include a beer yoga session (combining, you guessed it, yoga and beer), as well as workshops by brewers and blenders who will expound on the basic skills of beer making. You’re also welcome to just chill out, and enjoy the food and live music performances.

The Great Food Festival

September 21 to 24, Resorts World Sentosa

Resorts World Sentosa has teamed up with Savour Events (the same people behind Savour Festival), to bring us the first edition of, quite possibly, the island's largest food festival. The event is divided into segments like the Star Chef Arena, where visitors can watch celebrity chefs like Sam Leong (Forest) and Hal Yamashita (Syun) whip up their signature dishes for reasonable prices, as well as the Heritage Lane where the likes of Han Liguang (Labyrinth) and Jordi Noguera (FOC) will dish out heritage-inspired creations.

Those with a sweet tooth will find bliss at Rollin’ Sweet Times, where they would get a chance to savour over 300 lipsmacking sugary creations, as well as rub shoulders with Instagram-famous bakers Julián Ángel and Clifford Lu. Plus, remember to save space for the four-hands dinner featuring the resort's resident chefs teaming up for one-off exclusive menus for two nights only.
