Make the most out of your mealtime with our round-up of timely treats—be it big, luscious piece of steak or piping hot Korean soup

1. Atrium Restaurant

Tatler Asia

Why limit yourself to one meat dish when you have an entire meat-centric spread to choose from at Atrium Restaurant. You have until November 4 (dinner only) to feast on a selection of proteins such as braised Australian Tajima wagyu (cooked to your desired doneness, of course) served with red wine sauce, wagyu beef balls draped with onion or teriyaki sauce, and for something with an Asian inspiration, Australian Tajima wagyu shin shank beef rendang.

This is a buffet, after all, so do check out the entire spread available. The seafood station is stunning as it brims with the freshest marine offerings—freshly shucked Australian oysters, baby marron lobsters and mussels. Do note that you have to visit the restaurant on a weekend if you plan to delight in the big and meaty Boston lobsters.

2. Melt Café

Tatler Asia

The on-and-off rainy weather calls for a simmering Korean ginseng soup or seafood soup with beancurd. At Melt Café, which is having its first Korean feast until September 30, you’ll be able to tuck into those and so much more.

The themed spread has the quintessential kimchi, available at the live gourmet station alongside the Korean seafood pancake studded with prawns, squids and scallops, as well as the tteo-bokki, a tongue-numbing rice cake commonly found on the streets of Seoul.

Save space for more: kimchi fried rice, and meats like the chicken bulgogi and beef short ribs. Don’t forget the dessert, a selection of light and airy Korean strawberry cake and fruit ice jelly, to name a few.

3. Jaan

Tatler Asia

Kirk Westaway is an extremely busy chef. He recently debuted a revamped menu that “reinvented” British cuisine, and held a two-night four hands dinner with Italian chef Luca Fantin last week. Now, he’s gearing up for another collaborative dinner on September 28 with the venerable Australian chef Neil Perry.

Their menu is driven by the love for nature’s fresh bounty. From Kirk’s side are iconic Jaan dishes which include the ‘Egg in an Egg’ elevated with a dollop of premium caviar, and a new palate cleanser called Pimms in The Park.

Perry matches them with signature dishes that fuse his Australian roots and love for Asian flavours. Among them are the noodle lobster congee with star anise peanuts and, being Australian, the slow-cooked Rangers Valley short rib enhanced with yam, ginger puree with red curry sauce.

4. Papi’s Tacos

Tatler Asia

As if Seah Street can’t get any busier, Papi’s Tacos has opened for lunch, drawing in throngs of hungry gourmands wanting something hearty to power them up for the rest of the day.

Executive chef and partner, Mauricio ‘Papi’ Espinoza’s lunch set menu comprises an entrée, toasty chips and an invigorating Pico de Gallo. Choose from three sets which offer three tacos, chicken quesadillas or salad bowl as the main course.

It’s best if you toss in the esquites, too, a new item on the menu which is actually grilled corn kernels flavoured with chipotle aioli and Mexican cheese, and finished with zesty lime juice.

5. Se7enth

Tatler Asia

Before you start work, stop by the Se7enth for a nourishing breakfast with a poolside view (at the executive club) to boot. A classic choice would be pancakes, generously drizzled with truffle maple syrup, but you’re always welcome to try the grilled steak or salmon—even in the morning.

Light breakfast eaters are not forgotten with the vegetarian egg white frittata and smoked salmon salad topped with lemon vinaigrette. Coffee is complimentary when you dine from September 7 to October 31.
