Quench your thirst with our bi-weekly recommendations of tipples that please

Here in Singapore, we love our drinks as much as our food, and it's no wonder why the sunny island is home to many outstanding bars helmed by extremely talented bartenders. Some of them continue to push the boundaries, such as the team at Nineteen80 which debuted an updated beverage programme inspired by the '80s, and also the bartenders at Mo Bar who now use an interactive digital menu for their Volume Three cocktail offerings. Others think of innovative ways to take us on a trip around the world through bevvies—case in point, Publico which has debuted its Best Bar Voyage series this month.

But for the rest of our recommendations this week, they just want us to have a good time with freeflow offerings that are complemented with delectable bites as well as drinks packages best enjoyed with friends. Cheers!

1. Publico Ristorante

We may not be able to travel now, but Publico is bringing the world’s best bars to the island with the Best Bar Voyage. The first edition, which runs until March, is a collaboration with spirits company Bacardi and will feature international bartenders’ delicious cocktails made exclusively for the local mixologists to recreate.

First up is Caprice at Four Seasons Hong Kong, which landed at number 34 on the Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2020 list. Beverage ambassador Lorenzo Antinori’s libations include Golden Raisin Fizz, an invigorating drink concocted with Star of Bombay, Mancino Rosso, Campari, soda, golden raisins and saffron. Another stellar creation with a richer taste is the Oro Nero, made with Bacardi Reserva Ocho, white miso butter and orange bitter. Book here.

2. Nineteen80

While the bar is currently operating as a snack bar due to Covid-19, the team aims to bring back life in the space with an updated drinks menu that hark back to the '80s. For instance, La Bamba is cheekily named after rock & roll artist Ritchie Valens’ hit song, which was released in 1987. This different take on the classic Moscow Mule uses tequila as base that’s brightened by citrusy yuzu puree and mint leaves. Topped with ginger ale for a slightly spicy finish.

4. Mo Bar

To enhance the bar experience, the Mo Bar folks have launched an interactive and engaging digital menu that makes ordering cocktails fun and hassle-free. After scanning the QR code, you’ll be transported to a cocktail navigator where you need to choose your flavour profile—whether it’s citrusy, milky, savoury or even fruity. Choosing the latter will give you Chamoe, which refreshes the palate with a medley of vodka, melon and citron. But if you like something milkier, Milkyway is a delicious mix of whiskey, oolong tea and brown sugar. Book here.
