Headed to Paris and don’t know where to look for dining destinations? Start with this list of 10 restaurants chosen for embodying the fashionable “bistronome” trend, where casual bistros meet haute gastronomy at affordable prices.

In addition to representing the best of “bistronomy” the following are also hotel restaurants.  Here’s a selection of the top bistronome restaurants in Paris, as curated by online reservation site, Booking.com.

l’hôtel Edgar
2e arrondissement
Decorated in the style of the 1950s, the restaurant specialises in fresh, sustainable seafood and churns out plates like mussels à la plancha, flame-broiled octopus, fish and chips, and Roman-style calamari. If you’re more of a land versus sea diner, the chef will also whip up a Black Angus hanger steak frites or grilled Basque boudin (blood sausage).

Le Restaurant Bachaumont
2e arrondissement
Developed by the same group behind some of the city’s hottest destinations — Beef Club, Fish Club, Experimental Cocktail Club — the restaurant menu was designed by local celebrity chef Grégory Marchand of Frenchie fame. Guests tuck into classic French dishes like foie gras, leeks en vinaigrette, and beef tartare under a glass ceiling, near an open kitchen, in a bright, airy Art Deco-inspired space.

Le Comptoir du Relais
6e arrondissement
It comes as no surprise to see Le Comptoir du Relais on the list as chef Yves Camdeborde is often credited with pioneering the concept of bistronomy. A dining institution for both locals and tourists alike, the restaurant features traditional French specialties like deviled eggs, snails from Burgundy, roasted lamb chops with thyme and creamy rice pudding with caramel sauce. But for more sophisticated and adventurous palates, the restaurant also offers plates like spelt risotto with squid ink, and hake swimming in a ginger-lemongrass broth.

Terrass Restaurant
18e arrondissement
Along with its fresh, seasonal menu, the big draw to the Terrass Restaurant is its 7th floor rooftop terrace which provides sweeping views of the magical city, including the Eiffel Tower, Les Invalides and the Grand Palais. Diners tuck into dishes like foie gras with litchi or duck with roasted pear and candied turnip.

The Relais Plaza
8e arrondissement
A grill-room inspired by the roaring twenties, the Art Deco restaurant is one of five eateries inside the iconic Hotel Plaza Athénée. Opened in 1936, the brasserie is more casual than its cousins but still offers diners the luxury experience. Some of the restaurant’s signature dishes include the Relais Plaza salad, corn-fed roasted chicken and its caramel religieuse.

Other restaurants to make the list include La Régalade Conservatoire, Le Cinq Codet, Le Magnum, Bar le Baudelaire and Le Lulli.
