No tricks, just treats this year

There may not be large Halloween parties taking place this month, but that doesn’t mean that the spookiest time of the year is cancelled. Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, some restaurants have gone all out with special offerings including inspired menus, desserts and drinks that give us some semblance of normal in this “new normal”.

1/5 Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer

Just to make your Halloween celebration a little bit sweeter, Black Tap will be serving up its limited-edition CrazyShake special from October 30 to November 1. The towering beverage, which comes with a vanilla-frosted rim, is made more indulgent with toppings of chocolate cupcake that looks like a spiderweb; orange and white twisty pops, orange rock candy, and a generous dollop of whipped cream studded with orange sprinkles. And as if it can’t get any more decadent, it’s finished with a generous drizzle of chocolate syrup.

2/5 The Kitchen Table

If you still feel like venturing out on the eve of Halloween, make a trip to W Singapore for its one-night-only Butcher’s Halloween at The Kitchen Table. And in the spirit of the occasion, it will be fashioned after a spooky slaughterhouse.

Feast on sharing dishes, starting with the mouth-watering selection of steaks cooked however you prefer, and The Bloody Butcher’s Board. The board is loaded with chargrilled lamb chop drizzled with rosemary-infused jus; pork ribs coated in a sumptuous burnt barbecue sauce; and grilled chorizo and sweet corn. Available for dinner on October 31.

3/5 The Line

Drop by the restaurant on October 31 and you’ll see that the dinner offerings are a little bit different. That’s because the chefs will present a Halloween-inspired à la carte buffet menu with a smorgasbord of delicious dishes.

From the plant-based section, you have the ‘Eye See You’ featuring confit tomatoes, garlic sauce and Kalamata olives dressed in a guacamole sauce. Other highlights include the ‘Scare Crow Lamb Ouzi’, inspired by an Arabic rice dish that’s tossed with pulled lamb and mixed nuts; and the King Dragon, which is essentially a lobster burger. Dessert is the eye-catching ‘Spooky Backyard’, created with raspberry pain de genes and yuzu whipped ganache.

5/5 Krispy Kreme

Even the spirit of Halloween has reached Krispy Kreme, as it’s offering three special flavours until November 1. Named as such because of its look, Bloodshoot is smothered in a bloody strawberry jam with a sugar eyepiece in the centre, then filled with a luscious strawberry jam.

Despite the name Snorty, it’s a delicious treat comprising a lemon curd filling, while Stitchy comes with a dark green icing that resembles a classic monster with one eye missing.
