Singapore’s culinary gem makes sure you’re well fed with her sumptuous CNY dishes.

Ring in the Year of the Rooster with a lavish reunion dinner feast at home. Chef Violet Oon and her team have prepared delicious dishes for the occasion. One of our favourites is the Golden Hakka Abacus Beads. It’s loaded with dried cutlet fish, minced pork, Chinese mushrooms tossed with handmade dumplings. The latter’s made using sweet potatoes, which represent gold ingots to bring you wealth and prosperity.

A party without a lavish feast is no party at all. Choose from plenty more dishes; the seasonal special of babi chin is a braised pork served with a spicy and tangy pineapple sambal, while the rebung masak lemak is a flavourful chicken stewed in a spiced coconut gravy with bamboo shoots. You also have the ju hee char, cooked with vegetables stewed in cuttlefish broth, before the menu closes with dessert—grated tapioca cake.

Each party tray is big enough to feed 10 to 12 hungry souls, so you definitely have room for your friend’ sister’s boyfriend’s cousins… and their posse. (Read: Don’t forget about us!)

Available from 27 January to 11 February. The party trays have to be ordered two days in advance if placed before 3pm, or three days in advance if it’s after 3pm. Call 8533 1122 or email to partytrays@violetoon.com for orders and enquiries.
