Take the occasion to thank dad for all he’s done.

For a man who seems to have everything and needs nothing, shopping for a Father’s Day gift for dad is probably one of the hardest things to do. Does he need another tie? Another watch? Another money clip? But as all parents and spouses know too well, it’s quality time with the family that really matters. And for those of us who still have the chance to celebrate the occasion in dad’s presence, there’s no better time to eat, drink and be merry.

This Father’s Day, treat Papa to a little sumptuous meal, but make it special by showing him your appreciation and verbally thanking him for all he’s done for the family. Here, we’ve selected some of the finest spots to wine and dine him.

If a carefully crafted Chinese meal served in a lush and luxurious setting sounds appealing to the family, look no further than Cassia. This year, the elegant Chinese restaurant at Capella Singapore honours paternal bonds by offering a lavish six-course Father’s Day menu comprising expertly prepared authentic Cantonese signatures, which includes double-boiled guinea fowl soup with mushroom and dried scallop, and beef sirloin in barbecue sauce and prawn coated with wasabi mayonnaise. And for dessert, traditional servings of bird’s nest and yam paste.

The menu is available on 14 and 15 June for lunch and dinner.

If dad’s a big steak lover, there’s hardly a better place to take him than this Japanese wagyu steakhouse. This month, the restaurant introduces a Chef’s special tasting menu in honour of Father’s Day, proffering complex dishes specially conceived by group executive chef Dan Segall. Start with a salad of heirloom tomato and roasted ginger shoyu, followed by chopped tuna belly on sushi rice. The menu also features Fat Cow’s signature onsen tamago in citrus dashi, and charcoal-grilled wagyu beef from Rangers Valley for mains. Each set comes with a complimentary glass of Glenmorangie 10-years or Moet & Chandon Imperial Champagne. On 14 June, fathers receive a complimentary glass of Glenmorangie 10-years with every order of an a la carte wagyu main course.

Pamper dad with old world elegance at this fine dining stalwart — who knows, he might even have nostalgic tales of his own to share. The weekend roast lunch here features an impressive selection of the restaurant’s finest classics, plus a meat wagon presented tableside, showcasing a variety of cuts. They include a roast leg of crackling pork served with mash, and slow roasted U.S. black angus beef rib eye with Yorkshire pudding. And to complement, an array of superb starters, sides and desserts the likes of cold capellini pasta with king crab; lobster bisque scented with Napolean brandy; the signature sherry trifle; and mini baked Alaska with vanilla and strawberry ice cream.
