It's official, the well-loved burger joint will open its first outlet at Jewel Changi Airport

Burger fans here have been dreaming about the day they wouldn't have to fly overseas for Shake Shack’s mouthwatering burgers. Well, this will soon be a reality. The brand in partnership with South Korea-based global food company, SPC Group, announced that will open its first Singapore outlet in April 2019. Vice president of Global Licensing Michael Kark says, “For years we’ve been looking for the right opportunity to enter the Singaporean market given its regional importance.”

As the mega mall opens on April 17,  diners can head to the airport as it will be located at the new Jewel Changi Airport (a lifestyle nexus that will link the airport's Terminal 1 to Terminals 2 and 3), which is also somewhat reminiscent of Madison Square Park—Shake Shack’s birthplace—with its garden-like ambience surrounded by over 2,000 trees.

The menu will feature signature items such as the ShackBurger, made with 100 per cent grilled Angus beef blanketed with melted cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomatoes and ShakeShack sauce, as well as chicken sandwiches, Vienna beef dogs, crisp crinkle cut fries, beers and wines. In line with its mission to Stand For Something Good, the burger joint plans to use local purveyors and producers where possible.

Shake Shack’s expansion plans also include openings in Manila and Shanghai. It currently has 180 locations across the world including Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul, Istanbul, London and Moscow.
