In honour of the Breast Cancer Awareness Month, some of Singapore's chefs and bartenders have updated their menus with a touch of pink

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a global campaign celebrated every year to help raise awareness about this disease. When this time comes, everyone from beauty and fashion brands to F&B establishments will do their best to show their support by coming up with special offerings for this meaningful cause—whether it's through raising awareness, continuous education or monetary donations for cancer research. Here's what the restaurants and bars in Singapore have prepared this month.

1. The Lobby Lounge

Throughout the month, executive sous chef Maran Mariapin is presenting the Pink High Tea Set, in collaboration with The Estée Lauder Companies to raise awareness for breast cancer research.

The special three-tiered set is a beautiful collection of sweets and savouries: luscious French desserts such as lime and peach tourbillion tartelette; re-imagined kuehs and freshly-baked rose-infused scones with accompanying clotted cream and jam, to name a few. The set comes with hot beverages, too, and this includes its signature kopi tarik or teh. Available daily from 3pm to 5pm.

2. Smoke & Mirrors

The bar has launched two special menus this October to support the Breast Cancer Foundation’s ‘Wear the Pink Ribbon’ campaign. First up is the Bellini Mondays where you can enjoy bottomless servings of the sparkling cocktail from 7pm to 10pm. You’ll even receive a pink ribbon, and for each one given, the bar will donate $5 to the Foundation.

The team has also curated the Pink Menu, available daily until the end of the month. It features creative renditions of the bar’s signature cocktails. A twist on the Tuxedo cocktail is the Pink Martini, concocted with Botanist gin, dry Vermouth and accented with cherry and bitters for a dry, tangy and herbal finish.

3. 1864 Lobby Lounge

The culinary team has brought back the pink-hued edition of their Pink Hope High Tea Set, which is also in collaboration with The Estée Lauder Companies. Available for the whole month of October is an assortment of sweet and savoury treats—the likes of rose macaron and pink peanut butter financiers from the sweets sections, as well as marinated crab tartlet and oven-baked chicken sandwich from the savouries.

These will be presented in a box specially designed by artist-in-residence, Arianna Caroli. It even comes with a QR code that guests can easily scan if they want to find more about supporting breast cancer research at the Singapore General Hospital.

4. Heart of Darkness

The team is helping raise more funds and awareness for breast cancer research with a special menu, served throughout the month. Opt for the set or à la carte menu and dig into limited-edition signatures including koji veal wrap, served atop grilled miso eggplant, confit tomatoes, pomegranate, pickled shallots and garlic chips, and raspberry mochi for dessert.

The beers are a special collaboration between Heart of Darkness Craft Brewery and Evil Twin Brewing, so you’ll get cheekily named flavours like ‘When You Open This Bottle’ and ‘Real Raspberries Will Fly Out IPA’. In addition, the team has created the  Pink Pyjama cocktail, made with Prohibition Gin, lemon, Heart of Darkness raspberry puree, First Sunset Kumquat Pale Ale and cream.

The brewery has pledged to donate 10 per cent for each item sold or 10 dollars from each set menu purchased to the Breast Cancer Foundation of Singapore.

5. Kind Kones

Even the all-natural vegan ice cream brand has planned something meaningful for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you purchase a double scoop of its signature raspberry ripple and strawberry flavours, the team will donate 20 per cent of the amount to the Breast Cancer Foundation. Moreover, there will be a donation box in the outlet should you choose to donate more to get the iconic pink ribbon pin.
