The new burger concept by the people at Carvers & Co and private banker Serene Chua, Wolf is ready to dish out new offerings in the heart of the CBD.

Your search for hearty burgers has probably led you from fine dining restaurants to hole-in-the-wall eateries in the most far-flung spots in Singapore. But sometimes, you don’t have to travel far and wide to find them for they are right in front of your nose ― waiting to be discovered. One such place is Wolf Burgers, a new burger concept at the newly-opened PasarBella at Suntec City.

Though the name may be new, the brains behind it have been on the food scene for quite some time. Heading the kitchen is chef Sarah Lin, who’s also behind popular East Coast restaurant, Carvers & Co. With this new venture, she teamed up with private banker (and self-confessed foodie) Serene Chua to serve gourmet burgers, fries and milkshakes in the heart of the CBD area.

Its menu is still a little compact with three burger choices (which you can customise), four sides and three milkshakes. Before they start expanding their menu, Sarah and Serene are focusing on preparing the best burgers in town. How? It starts with the patty. Though they’re not willing to share their recipe, they admit that these are prepared daily in-house to produce a fresh and juicy burger.

Each burger is prepared with a single patty that is grilled to the right degree ― not too raw or burnt for our taste ― its juices soaking into the bun for extra flavour. With the basics done right, it’s finished off with a generous amount of cheddar cheese and sautéed onions. Another burger worth mentioning is the buttermilk fried chicken burger, prepared with an inch-thick patty that remains crispy even though it is covered with salted egg mayo and homemade slaw.

Of course, you can’t have burgers without fries. An indulgent creation of theirs is the Smores fries, topped with, yes, melted marshmallows. This could almost pass off as dessert, so to accompany the burgers, we’d opt for the kimchi cheese fries covered with cheddar cheese and a dollop of kimchi.

Completing the menu is the selection of thick malted shakes, which are a bit too sweet for our liking. But if you can handle the sugar in your system, there are some fun choices: Horlicks vanilla, dark chocolate and strawberry rose.
