Adriano Cattaneo, the global executive head chef of LPM Restaurant and Bar, gives his recommendations for the ritziest city in the United Arab Emirates

Hong Kong's gourmands will recognise French chef Adriano Cattaneo from his many years at the helm of L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon, though these days he calls Dubai his home, having moved to the United Arab Emirates to take up the post of global executive head chef of LPM Restaurant and Bar.

With an impressive culinary resumé that includes the likes of Epicure at Le Bristol Paris, Le Meurice and Nomicos, Cattaneo is a stickler for the exacting standards required at the highest echelons of fine dining—a tendency that carries over into his picks for culinary destinations in his newly adopted home. Keep reading to find out where to book on your next trip to Dubai, each carrying Cattaneo's stamp of approval.

L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon

When I want to feel at home, I always go for the lamb cutlets and mashed potatoes at L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon. This place is like family to me, having worked there for a long time before I joined the team at LPM. I share lots of fond memories with the fellow chefs I worked with over the years.

Zuma

Definitely one of the most popular restaurants in Dubai—it never disappoints. I come here for the vibrant ambience and delicious cocktails at the bar, as well as the super-fresh sushi and sashimi.

Chic Nonna

Chic Nonna is a must-try on my list. There is some Italian blood in my family, so I like to check out Italian places from time to time to honour that part of my heritage.

Al Muntaha

I love this restaurant and its location in the Burj Al Arab. The view is simply incredible, and as a one-Michelin-starred restaurant, this is French cuisine at its finest.

Clap

Clap will always be my number one choice for a good, lively brunch in Dubai. Its buffet offers an extensive selection of different food, including amazing sushi options. The panoramic view of the city and the pleasant live music are just the icing on the cake.

Amazonico

Amazonico is iconic in Dubai. I love the unique decor and the breathtaking view from their well-known rooftop—one of the most famous in Dubai. I always enjoy a good cocktail here. It’s the perfect fusion of tropical and Latin American cuisines.
