The new edition is a collaboration between Michelin-recommended restaurants and bars, whose creations showcase the diversity of the F&B scene

If you’re looking for exciting food and drink events this month, check out the Michelin Guide Gastrobar Pop-ups from March 2 to 24. Created as part of the Singapore Tourism Board’s SingapoRediscovers campaign, the second edition sees Michelin-recommended restaurants and bars collaborate for an exclusive menu of hand-crafted cocktails and bites that showcase the diversity of the local F&B scene.

There are four pop-ups happening throughout the month, and each one is held over two days at the venues of participating bars. The event kickstarts on March 2 and 3 with a team-up between Buona Terra executive chef Denis Lucchi and Tess Bar & Kitchen head bartender Christyne Lee. Both will focus on the beautiful Italian flavours with Lucchi whipping up his contemporary Italian signatures and Lee pairing these with cocktails infused with Italian spirit or liquor.

Latin America is the focus of the next session scheduled on March 9 and 10, and it will be brought to the dining table with a special menu by Ola Cocina Del Mar and Junior The Pocket Bar. You can count on chef-owner Daniel Chavez to craft a repertoire of mouth-watering seafood and Spanish dishes which are elevated by bartender Joe Alessandroni’s inspired bevvies.

This is followed by another exciting gastronomic journey to Japan and Sweden with Restaurant Zén and No Sleep Club’s delightful offerings, available on March 16 and 17. Executive chef Tristin Farmer will present his signature Swedish cuisine laced with Japanese accents, and bar co-founders Jessica Hutch and Juan Yi Jun will match the dishes with their flavour-forward cocktails.

The last session on March 23 and 24 is an homage to local flavours. Labyrinth chef-owner Han Liguang and Native Bar founder Vijay Mudaliar do it justice by showcasing Singaporean and Southeast Asian flavours through their innovative menus crafted using ingredients that you can easily find within the region.

Of the Gastrobar pop-up series, Nicolas Achard, Managing Director of Michelin Food & Beverage Asia, said: “It is thrilling for the Michelin Guide to bring the worlds of cocktails and food closer together to create new explorations and synergy between chefs and bartenders, and we hope this gives guests of both genres something to look forward to as they travel through their palate.” Book here.
