Lunch with a Marina Bay View
Since celebrity chef and restaurateur Wolfgang Puck’s highly acclaimed restaurant, Spago, opened in October of this year, it has been perennially booked for dinner. Well, if you’re one of the unlucky bunch who hasn’t had the chance to dine there until now, we’ve got great news for you—the restaurant is now open for lunch.
Although the menu is not as extensive as what you have for dinner, it still has enough offerings to satisfy the gourmand in you. Are you ready to indulge your palate? If so, begin with the appetiser of Big Eye Tuna Tartare Cones, which is always a popular choice in all of Spago’s outlets. It consists of three crisp little cones with scallions, masago, shaved bonito and chilli aioli. The best way to eat this is in one big bite, so you can savour the different flavours all at once.
While some dishes are taken from the original Spago outlet, there are a few which are created by Executive Chef Josh Brown especially for Singapore outlet. Some examples are the Chicken “Laksa” Spring Roll which is inspired by our beloved local dish, Laksa, and the Sashimi Salad which consists of various types of fishes dressed in citrus ponzu.
You know what? That’s only the tip of the iceberg with Spago’s lunch menu. There’s still a range of offerings under the mains sections, some of which are the Mushroom Risotto, Hand Cut Agnolotti and Grilled Angus Beef Burger. But if you feel like having a feast, opt for the Grilled USDA Prime Sirloin ‘Steak Frites’ which showcases Chef Josh’s expertise with the grill.
You can choose to enjoy these dishes at the main restaurant, which is fashioned after a colonial style bungalow with big French windows overlooking the infinity pool and the breathtaking Marina Bay view. But if you're not in a hurry, you also have the option to savour these, alongside refreshing cocktails, at the terrace lounge with an al fresco bar. Cheers!
