It may seem a tad early, but the best time to arrive is when the doors open at 7pm, so you can pick your sweet spot on the comfy lounge chairs or near the bar (for easy access to drinks, of course) before the crowd starts streaming in. There’s an array of canapes to tide you over until the party officially begins, which you can enjoy while chilling to live jazz music. 

At 9pm, the energy goes up a couple of notches with free flow Prosecco for the ladies (until midnight) and a mix of live performances to tempt you to hit the dance floor. Move to the groovy beats courtesy of DJ Tirso of Matteblacc; classic and upbeat jazz tunes by LuLu’s resident jazz duo, Noelle and Josephine; lounge music by Hammond Organ Trio Aynsley Green Organ Transplant; and live sax by Kaye of Darker Than Wax. Also worth looking out for are featured international guest acts.

And what's a night out without cocktails? At LuLu's there's an array of choices, from the usual suspects to playful takes on classic recipes, served alongside a curated list of wines, whiskies and other popular spirits.

The whiskey sour, for instance, is reimagined as the Whiskey Pucker Up, a generous pour of Rebel Yell Whiskey mixed with maple syrup, lemon juice and egg white, and finished with LuLu’s kiss mark.

Other fun twists on the familiar include Big Coconuts, which is inspired by the Pina Colada. It's made with Reyka Vodka, kaffir lime syrup and coconut cream for more sass. My Own Private Negroni is an addictive and potent mix of Bombay Sapphire Gin, Campari and Mancino Rosso; while the Call Me Old Fashioned is given a different take with the use of Knob Creek Bourbon, Angostura bitters and orange peel.

And if it all sounds like too much to take in in one night, remember there's always next Wednesday.
