Immerse yourself in the world of mixology with the creative tipples and activities hosted by top bartenders.

If your thirst for cocktails can never be quenched, check out the Singapore Cocktail Festival (SGCF)—formerly known as Singapore Cocktail Week—happening from March 16 to 21 at The Festival Village and participating bars in the city.

This year’s theme is “Taste, Learn and Play” and there will be loads of boozy activities ranging from sampling exclusive cocktails at the themed rooms to masterclasses by the world’s best bartenders.

If you want to maximise your time at SGCF, here are some events to check out.

Explore the Themed Cocktail Rooms

Start your SGCF experience by checking out the nine cocktail rooms at the Festival Village. Each one has a different theme and we recommend “Dreams” and “Artisanal Spirits Room”. The former lets you explore the different elements of dreams and sample cocktails inspired by them, while the latter is where you’ll discover unique, hand-crafted spirits.

The Asia Bar Battle Room is where bartending teams from Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Philippines Thailand and Vietnam will showcase their creative concoctions. Don’t forget to sample and vote; whoever wins will earn the title of Singapore’s Next Top Cocktail.

Satiate Your Hunger at the Gourmet Food Street

We all know that booze is never complete without food. When hunger strikes, head to the food street where top restaurants offering gourmet fare await.

The Disgruntled Brasserie will satiate your appetite with dishes like petit lobster roll, crispy beef short ribs and deep-fried octopus. Craving for something else? Check out Ninja Bowl, Ninja Cut and Izy Dining and Bar.

Learn About the World of Mixology

Create your own cocktail, get tips from renowned bartenders, discover bartending techniques—these are just some of the things you will learn at SGCF’s workshops and masterclasses.

Craft Cocktails at Home is perfect for beginners as you will learn basic cocktail-making tips as well as four cocktail recipes you can easily make at home.

For advanced classes, La Maison du Whisky's Classic Cocktail Workshop hosted by bar manager Mauricio Allende will share cocktail-making techniques and recipes. Fans of Brazilian spirits will learn more about Cachaça at the Cachaça & Cocktails Masterclass, presented by Maracatu Cachaça.

Sample Exclusive Cocktails

Throughout the six days, there will be 45 participating bars who will create exclusive cocktails for SGCF. 28 Hong Kong Street, Asia’s Best Bar in 2016, will offer Archive Release, cocktails aged in wood barrels and famous for their mellow character.

Check out Gibson, Highball and Mitzo Restaurant & Bar for their special cocktail menus, too.

SGCF’s Festival Village (next to Shaw Towers) is open from March 16 to 19, 4pm to 10pm on Thursday and Friday and 12pm to 10pm on Saturday and Sunday. Masterclasses and special cocktail menus from 45 participating bars are available until March 21.
