Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao and Crystal Jade Kitchen have exclusive menus to welcome the occasion
It’s typical for a food-loving nation like ours to celebrate memorable moments—such as Singapore’s 53rd birthday—with sumptuous eats. But you don’t have to wait until August 9 to start digging into celebratory menus at two of Crystal Jade's outlets.
Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao is offering a Szechuan-inspired menu filled with fiery specialities, and the best way to ease your palate into it is with their pan-fried mala pork buns.

These fluffy white buns are filled with a combinatinon of minced pork fat, pork loin and cabbage that is heavily infused with a mala spice mix; they won’t have you reaching immediately for a glass of milk but they will leave that familiar tingling sensation.
Then it's time to step it up with some sautéed spicy tea tree mushrooms and sautéed spicy pork collar with potato and lotus root. Both are redolent with wok hei and fiery flavours. But if you think these are still too mild for you, there is also the spiciest dish on the menu—the decpetively simple-sounding Chongqing spicy noodles.
It’s best to have on standby a cold soybean drink and, perhaps, two cups of rice; just in case you need to tame the flame. It's quite the challenge this generous serving of noodles that you'll find sitting in an extremely red and piquant mala broth brimming with pickled vegetables, minced pork, leafy greens and fried peanuts.
