Get Creative During The Circuit Breaker Period With Restaurant Zén’s French Toast Challenge
As we continue to practise social distancing to prevent the further spread of coronavirus, chefs are helping us curb our boredom at home while ensuring we eat well.
That’s the reason why Restaurant Zén’s executive head chef Tristin Farmer and his team have launched the Zén French Toast Challenge, which runs until May 4. Why French toast? “The dish is a traditional Frantzén dish that has been on Restaurant Zén and Restaurant Frantzén’s menus since their opening,” explains Farmer. It's also part of their takeaway and delivery menu.
Each set comes with sourdough French toast, parmesan custard and shaved Umbrian black truffles. Farmer wants to bring out the inner artist in you by plating it to the best of your ability and sharing it on Instagram with the hashtag #FrenchToastChallenge, and tagging Restaurant Zén and Farmer.
The whole team will then “rate the effort by looking at the creativity that our guests put into it and the presentation”. Three winners will be chosen and will win special prizes: the first place winner will receive a dinner for two at the restaurant, second place recipient will get a gift basket, and the third prize is a bottle of Zén gin with 4 tonics. Their names will be announced on Facebook and Instagram. Click here for more details.
