Cocktail maestros Giorgio Bargiani and Maura Milia of the award-winning The Connaught Bar in London will helm Manhattan for one night only
Since its inception in 2016, imbibers have been looking forward to the Friends of Manhattan Series, which has featured some of the world’s best bartenders—from Roman Foltan, formerly of acclaimed Artesian Bar in London and Atlas in Singapore, to Jesse Estes, Ocho Tequila’s brand ambassador.
For the next edition taking place on September 3 (7pm until late), head mixologist Giorgio Bargiani and assistant bar manager Maura Milia of The Connaught Bar will be taking over the bar to serve up their signature concoctions.
The most iconic is The Connaught Martini, created 11 years ago when the bar opened. It’s crafted from the famed bar trolley, which will be recreated at Manhattan on that night, where guests can freely customise their drink by choosing their natural essence bitter. This is followed by a mixture of vermouths stirred with gin or vodka, then poured from a height to reveal the delicious aromas and flavours.
And then there’s The Goodfellas, featuring cardamom-infused Maker’s Mark bourbon combined with Martini Riserva Speciale Rubino, black cardamom syrup, balsamic vinegar, Abbott’s bitters for a potent finish with a pleasantly bitter aftertaste.
