This Italian fine dining outfit has seen the culinary baton passed from one Italian chef to another, but the latest chef to take the helm is Japanese. Now that Forlino has come under the wings of the Deliciae Hospitality Management group (the dynamic team behind celebrated restaurants such as La Cantine), Chef Kentaro Torii has been chosen to front the space. Torii was most recently at Ochre Italian Restaurant & Bar and counts former one-Michelin star Ristorante Al Pino on his resume. While the focus of the dining area is still very much the bayfront view afforded by floor-to-ceiling glass panels, elegant updates mark the space, beginning with the silver tiled columns and muted gold chandeliers.

The five-course signature menu is a succinct reflection of what the menu has to offer, showcasing Torii’s stylings on a variety of produce. Highlights include a salmon carpaccio, where he plays off the acidity of caviar vinaigrette against the velvety sweetness of peaches and a flawless spaghetti alla chitarra tossed in robust hunks of Boston lobster, Sardinian bottarga and Datterini tomato.
