Eggslut to Open its First Outlet in Singapore Come 2021
Many dining establishments have shuttered their doors in Singapore during the Covid-19 crisis, but that hasn't stopped popular eateries from overseas from wanting to be a part of our dynamic dining F&B scene. Case in point: Eggslut, an American gourmet shop renowned for its egg-centric offerings, which is set to open its first outlet here early next year.
Founded by Filipino-American chef Alvin Cailan and his cousin Jeff Vales in 2011, its debut in the local market is in partnership with Korean F&B company SPC Group, which also brought us Shake Shack and Paris Baguette.
While the group hasn’t announced the location of its first branch in Singapore, gourmands can start dreaming about its signature egg sammies (egg sandwiches), which are made to order using fresh and high-quality ingredients.
High on the must-try list is the Fairfax, a mouthwatering ensemble of cage-free scrambled eggs and chives, cheddar cheese, caramelised onions and sriracha mayo—sandwiched between warm brioche buns. There’s also the Eggslut version of the cheeseburger, which jazzes up the classic mix of ground Angus beef, caramelised onions, cheddar cheese, bread and butter pickles and dijonnaise with the addition of cage-free over medium egg.
When Eggslut opens in Singapore next year, it will mark its Southeast Asian debut. This is part of the brand’s worldwide expansion, which now has 10 branches in the US, the UK, Japan and South Korea.
