The first half of the year may have passed, but there are still a lot of exciting things to look forward to in our vibrant dining scene. From guest chef collaborations to kitchen takeovers, here are five things you shouldn’t miss.

Monti’s Truffle Wine Dinner


While savouring Australia’s prized winter truffles is reason enough to fly there, save yourself from the possibility of jetlag with Monti’s winter truffle dinner. Guest chef Francisco Javier Araya of Napa Wine Bar & Kitchen has crafted a six-course menu highlighting the prized fungi available for the whole month.

Our favourites include the sweet carabinero prawns topped with creamy uni and earthy truffles, as well as the slow cooked wagyu short rib which comes with spinach puree, truffle and black garlic aioli. We highly recommend going for the wine pairing to get the full experience.

Basilico’s 9th Anniversary

We can’t say no to great Italian food, so you’ll find us at Basilico’s 9th anniversary celebration this week enjoying Italian dishes by chef de cuisine, Aniello Turco. He first made a name for himself at Mio, Four Season’s award-winning hotel restaurant in Beijing, lauded as one of the Best 50 Restaurants in China by Food & Wine.

There’s a wide range of dishes to savour, from his signature slow-cooked beef with broccoli, mackerel with flat bread, to the salted lemon and candied capers.

Chang Sensory Trails

If you haven’t had the chance to visit Bo.lan in Bangkok, ranked no. 19  in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list, you can try chef-owners’ Bo Songvisava and Dylan Jones authentic Thai cooking in Singapore with the Chang Sensory Trails.

Chang Beer’s annual event showcases the vibrancy of Thai cuisine, and you’ll find both chefs cooking up well-loved dishes found on the streets of Bangkok, as well as undiscovered delicacies from the country’s lesser known regions.

The event takes place on July 7 and 8, from 4pm to 10.30pm at The Promontory at Marina Bay.

Maggie Joan’s Kitchen Takeover

Here’s an idea: why not head to Russia for the day? There's no one better to introduce you to this glorious cuisine than Ivan Shishkin, chef and co-owner of lauded Delicatessen restaurant in Moscow.

He’ll helm Maggie Joan’s kitchen for two days and will prepare three-course lunch and five-course dinner menus, which will give you a taste of the bold Russian flavours with his own spin. Delicatessen’s signature cocktails, which earned it a place in the World’s 50 Best Bars list, will be showcased alongside the dishes.

OFC Sunset Social Market

Open Farm Community has brought back its Sunset Social Market, an event made for the entire family. For one weekend only, the space will transform into a bustling market where you’ll find everything from Asian-inspired buns by Bao Maker, vegan rojak by Chefy Bakehouse, to raclette cheese sandwiches by The Raclette Movement.
